Frequently Asked Questions

How fast will I become fluent in Spanish?

This depends on how hard you’re willing to work. You should be able to carry on a basic conversation within a month of taking 2 classes a week. To reach full fluency, you should expect to spend 9-12 months studying regularly. If you wish to speed up the process, more practice is recommended. Keep in mind that most people do intensive courses to learn Spanish when they travel, studying for up to 8 hours a day!

Why are your Spanish classes so expensive?

When you study with us, you’re getting the benefit of decades of teaching practice and professional teachers who have studied this. Many schools charge very little because A) they have beginner teachers who are learning on the job and B) they do not pay their teachers a fair wage. We pride ourselves on ensuring that our teachers make a living wage so they can support their families, but we also ensure you are getting the best teaching experience possible.

Where are you located?

We are located in Antigua, Guatemala and the surrounding towns. Because we offer online classes, our teachers live in different areas of the municipality. Guatemala is considered one of the best places in the world to study Spanish.

How often should I take classes?

Ideally, you would take a minimum of 3 classes per week. However, if you really want to learn faster, then we recommend daily classes.

What is this proprietary curriculum?
Our head teacher, Claudia, has used her decades of experience in teaching Spanish to create a high quality, unique curriculum that all our teachers use. It has been designed to help you learn and practice your Spanish in an accelerated manner. You can only access this coursework through our classes . . . no one else has access to it.
Can I share my class with a friend?

We offer special discounts if you want to join up with another person to take a class together. Check out our packages here.

What if I don’t really like my teacher?
Sometimes people just don’t mesh and that’s fine! We are more than happy to offer you a different teacher for your next class if the first one doesn’t suit your needs.
Can I take in person classes?
If you are in Antigua, we can arrange for a teacher to meet with you either at your hotel or in a public place. However, due to travel times, there is an extra fee for in person classes.
I’m in Guatemala, can you suggest some things to do?
We would be happy to share some tips with you and we also offer custom tour packages. Please contact us for more information.
